Nessie. Is she real? I searched for her when I was in scotland but couldn't see her. This old guy with a long beard stood next to me and looked at the lake, and these kids asked him in irony "when is the monster gonna show up" and went on laughing. He simply said: "She'll come, just wait. She'll come." it was really cool, he said it with such belief, you know?

Thats pretty deep OP, be it A) he actually believed B) he was trying to instill a bit of magic into those kids lives or C) one day when there older there realise that you need to believe in things you can't always see or touch, one day there believe in a nessy.
