Therianthropy. They're like furries, but crazier. Some even think they're dragons. Of course, it's utter madness, but won't stop people from thinking they're a wolf inside if that's what gets them off. Though I hear there was one sort of therianthrope/otherkin gathering in which there was some kind of group ritual/prayer thing that all those present show their true forms. From what I hear, a number of people who went to that gathering disappeared mysteriously. Or something along those lines.

Just to get things rolling, I thought I'd start a topic.

Bigfoot. Do you think such a creature exists, and why/why not?

Monster Quest is alright. I was excited by it at first until the second episode that I watched. About Giant birds.

The information in that episode was all speculation. There was almost no true information in it and they actually lied. Because of that I dont trust Monster Quest.

and what I'm referancing to is that they were talking about large birds carrying small children off. They said that it was impossible and couldnt be done. When there have been literally at least 50 documented cases in the US where eagles have carried off small children and man more attempts.

A man in california actually tested it with his own 3-yr old daughter. Albeit controversial methods, he proved that the average sized eagle can in fact lift a child up off the ground and fly with her. (she wasnt hurt)

Destination Truth, on the other hand, is very good.

yo i think bigfoot IS blurry

>> No.14

Personal theory here is "big foot" is some proto human ape. There are fossil remnants of tool making humanoids in Africa that greatly resembled apes. Such as Australopithecus Bosei, who where divergent evolutionary branches from the common human ancestor and eventually became extinct.

Its also known modern man was not the first homo species to venture out of Africa. Homo Erectus is known to have moved as far as China.

I theorize that bigfoot is a human evolution divergent that had been successively pushed into more remote areas by the much more dangerous humans. To exist without official detection for so long they must exhibit an intelligence greater than the chimpanzee (an animal known to exhibit self-awarenes.) Also curiously there have been plenty of sightings but never reports of attacks on people. Could be that the attacked never live to tell the tale or could be the bigfoot knows better than insight human wrath.

I would guess they are social creatures, and fully aware of how incredibly dangerous humans are. It doesn't take much intelligence to realize humans tend to try and kill everything they see, and are far too strong to be driven back. Its why even very large predatory mammals are wary of humans, those that were not met natural selection very quickly. Its also possible like neaderthals they bury their dead, and thus would make discovery of specimens nearly impossible. Its possible they even recover the dead that might have been killed by human hunters or traps or accidents. They must also be a very rare animal, as ecosystems would have trouble supporting large populations of such a large creature, especially with such limited ranges due to human encroachment.

Its quite a misnomer that even human cites are animal free. We expect squirrels and mice, but there are cases of animals as big as panthers going unnoticed in heavily urban areas for very long periods of time. They were eventually tracked and delt with, but the idea that a panther Animals exhibit an elusiveness and cunning that at times can be surprising.

The eyewitness accounts are generally quite consistent, and even more remarkable, there are corresponding accounts from other areas of the world.

Another factor, if bigfoot is a human evolutionary divergent, DNA sampling of hair or tissue found would be hard. Not becasue of bad DNA, but becasue it would be so close to human most scientists/DNA techs would dismiss genuine results as contamination, or a hoax. The same would hold true for hair samples, as they would likely be very similar to human hairs.

However until a specimen is found and verified by independent researches this debate and theorizing will continue on forever. It might be a terrible thing if bigfoot is ever proven to exist, as it would spark a spree of attempted poaching that would make the discovered animal extinct in short order.

And if it does exist, perhaps the Bigfoot knows this, and thus why its so careful to avoid detection.

These Guys apparently obtained the body of a bigfoot and are unveiling it on september 1st. What do you think?

Here's their website.

>> No.2

They seem like nuts. First, they're selling something on their website.

From the news article:

The Bigfoot Field Research Organization, a California-based group claiming there have been 61 Bigfoot sightings in Georgia, officially described Whitton and Dyer as "idiots" and "clowns," and warned their claims are a scam to advertise their business.

I think that's fairly showing. Especially since the Bigfoot Field Research Organization has its own fair share of quacks.

In one video, posted online by "RDYER678," Whitton and Dyer interview a "pathologist" who is shocked at the Bigfoot, but then, in a follow-up video, the pair admits the "doctor of pathology" is actually Whitton's brother. Standing in a kitchen, Whitton's brother says to the camera, "Live and let live. What happened to that? Guys just trying to have a little fun, you know?"

Why would they jeopardize their credibility like this when shit like this has plagued other bigfoot investigations in which 'evidence' was procured?

Dyer did not say how they came into possession of the carcass, and declined to let a news reporter look at it, but swore it was being well-preserved and would be revealed.

Dyer said he and Whitton plan to sell the Bigfoot body and make a lot of money.

"As of right now," he said, "we've been offered a million bucks for it, from a very credible source. But we'll make 10 times that. This will change history forever."

THIS, is why it's false. They're keeping the body a secret. They're not turning it over to any university, they're not subjecting it to any sort of tests. They're fucking hawking it to the highest bidder. This whole thing just screams scam.

So it really was a rubber suit after all.

Last week's excitement over a supposed Bigfoot body, which culminated Friday in a circus-like press conference in Palo Alto, Calif., collapsed like a wet soufflé Sunday as an independent investigator determined it was all fake.

SearchingforBigfoot.com owner Tom Biscardi had paid an "undisclosed sum" — Internet rumors put it at $50,000 — to Georgia residents Matthew Whitton and Rick Dyer for their frozen "corpse" and the privilege of trotting them, but not the body, out in front of TV cameras.

At the same time, Biscardi sent self-described "Sasquatch detective" Steve Kulls to a secret location — apparently Muncie, Ind. — to check out the specimen.

Kulls, it's safe to say, was severely disappointed.

The upshot? Bigfoot, once found, is now again missing. So are Whitton, Dyer and Biscardi's money.

In a long statement on SearchingforBigfoot.com, Kulls reveals what he found early Sunday morning Eastern time as the body thawed out.

"I extracted some [hair] from the alleged corpse and examined it and had some concerns," Kulls writes. "We burned said sample and said hair sample melted into a ball uncharacteristic of hair."

Kulls called Biscardi in California, who told him to heat the body to speed up thawing.

"Within one hour we were able to see the partially exposed head," Kulls continues. "I was able to feel that it seemed mostly firm, but unusually hollow in one small section. This was yet another ominous sign."

Then came the clincher.

"Within the next hour of thaw, a break appeared up near the feet area. ... I observed the foot which looked unnatural, reached in and confirmed it was a rubber foot."

That jibes with what Jerry Parrino, owner of Internet Halloween-costume retailer TheHorrorDome.com, told FOXNews.com last week.

"It definitely looks like our [Sasquatch] costume," Parrino said after viewing photos of the body.

The Biscardi team immediately went into crisis mode. Biscardi called Whitton and Dyer at their California hotel.

They admitted it was a hoax and agreed to sign a promissory note at a meeting set for 8 a.m. Pacific time at the hotel.

But when Biscardi got there, he "found that they had left."

"At this time action is being instigated against the perpetrators of this fraud," Kulls writes on Biscardi's Web site. "On behalf of myself I can say with certainty Matthew Whitton and Ricky Dyer [are] not the best Bigfoot trackers in the world!"

Loren Coleman, who runs the influential Cryptomundo.com Web site devoted to mysterious animals, isn't buying Biscardi's pleas of ignorance.

"He's a huckster, a circus ringmaster," Coleman told FoxNews.com. "It's all about money with him. It probably didn't matter to him whether it was real or not."

So why would Dyer, described as a former security guard, and Whitton, a police officer with the Clayton County, Ga., department, make it all up?

"They probably started out small, as a way to promote their Bigfoot tracking business, and got in way over their heads," Coleman figured. "These are not very intelligent individuals."

The involvement of Biscardi, who Coleman says was introduced to the pair by Kulls, brought them attention they didn't need.

"In a way, both sides may have been trying to out-con each other," said Coleman.

The Bigfoot Field Research Organization, another Bigfoot group that refused to take seriously what Coleman dubbed the "Georgia gorilla," wants everyone connected with the "body" — Biscardi, Dyer, Kulls and Whitton — arrested.

"Warrants need to be issued immediately before Biscardi leaves the country," the organization's Web site states.

As for Whitton, he doesn't seem to have a job to come back to in Georgia.

Asked for comment on Officer Whitton, Clayton County, Ga., Chief of Police Jeffrey Turner, corrected FoxNews.com. "You mean ex-officer Whitton."

"As soon as we saw it was a hoax," Chief Turner explained, "I filed the paperwork to terminate his employment."

Turner said he hasn't heard from Whitton, and that he was mystified at the former officer's involvement in such a blatant scam.

"He was a real go-getter," Turner said, citing Whitton's wounding in the line of duty earlier this summer while apprehending a suspect who had allegedly shot a woman in the head. "For someone to do a complete three-sixty like that, I can't explain it."

The woman who answered the phone at Biscardi's Searching for Bigfoot office in Menlo Park, Calif., said he was out ill but would return calls when he could.

Nessie. Is she real? I searched for her when I was in scotland but couldn't see her. This old guy with a long beard stood next to me and looked at the lake, and these kids asked him in irony "when is the monster gonna show up" and went on laughing. He simply said: "She'll come, just wait. She'll come." it was really cool, he said it with such belief, you know?

Probably otters. When a group of otters swims, they assemble themselves into these neat kind of serpentine crowds. At least, that's the most popular hypothesis these days.
